Bugatti’s supercar Chiron has finally been confirmed! It will arrive as a successor to the powerful Veyron. The carmaker will pull covers off the 2017 Bugatti Chiron at the Geneva Motor Show. The vehicle is named after the Louis Chiron who brought Bugatti victories in all major races it competed in, including the victories at Monaco and Monza.
This new model will be lighter and more powerful than any other supercar in Bugatti’s lineup. The 2017 Bugatti Chiron comes with a great number of improvements. It will no longer have off-set driving position or the heavy curb weight which earned the Veyron some negative press. It is interesting to mention that the upcoming model will have only 18% of carryover components, more precisely, the engine.
Exterior of 2017 Bugatti Chiron
For the 2017 Bugatti Chiron, people say it will be the shortest model in the history of the car. It will still be the most luxurious, powerful, fastest, and most exclusive production supercar. Allegedly, the 2017 Bugatti Chiron shows a strong resemblance to the concept the carmaker presented in Frankfurt called the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo Concept.
However, the 2017 Chiron shares a lot of styling cues with the Veyron, which is its older brother after all. The vehicle has curvaceous haunches and the trademark Bugatti grille. It also comes with mid-engine design. It boasts a sizeable windshield that wraps around A-pillars and goes toward the side glass ending in the air scoop behind B-pillars.
The 2017 Bugatti Chiron comes with improved aerodynamics. Thanks to these improvements, we expect 18 mph of oomph of the top speed. Air intakes placed over the occupant compartment roof suck in air for the beast under the hood, the W16 drivetrain.
Bugatti Chiron 2017 Interior
It remains a mystery regarding what Bugatti has up its sleeve with the interior design of the upcoming Chiron. At this point, we know that the carmaker will try to fix some of the shortcomings of the Veyron. They will probably do something with the off-centered driving position.
The gauge cluster will also receive a makeover. The windshield will be pretty large, so outward visibility will be enhanced as well. Improved ergonomics is also expected with the switchgear being repositioned. Of course, the cabin will be futuristic and it will be loaded with gills with new technological features and gadgets.
Engine of Bugatti Chiron
Some trusted sources reported that the only thing that will be carried over from the Veyron will actually be the W16 engine. However, it will be more powerful since it has suffered many changes and updates. It will have direct-fuel injection and increased the turbo boost pressure.
The 8.0-liter W-16 will have the capacity to deliver more than 1500 ponies. The level of torque will also be increased to 1,100 pound-feet. Power will be transferred through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The 2017 Bugatti Chiron will hit 60 mph in 2.5 seconds.
2017 Bugatti Chiron Release date and Price
Still filed under speculation is Chiron’s price. We believe that it will start at $2.5 million. It will be ready to bow sometime in 2016.
